Arrow keys + mouse are unplayable controls for most right handed people. Unless you're intending to make it so it's very hard to move and shoot at the same time, please add WASD controls. I'd like to try the game out, but the controls as it stands make it not worth trying

Very cool, I like how you give the player the option to use whatever number they want. A lot of math games feel restrictive and thus feel like a chore, this one does not. Simple and fun for a while

Fun little game, imo the hardest part of the whole game was the second checkpoint on level 16, with the alien defending the cliff. It would be nice to have another, more intense sound loop for the beginning cutscene and the boss battles. Also if you are touching a wall and a bouncy block you will stay in one place and trigger the sound and animation repeatedly.

Why did you upload this and Insane circle? Neither are big enough to be a good game, it seems like you're just trying to farm clicks by uploading two games that are practically identical, neither of which had much effort put into them

Pretty okay, needs some polish though. The scrolling/size of the map makes the game feel clunky right off the bat so it's kinda hard to get into. The game itself isn't bad, not too original from what I played but that can be fine. You don't seem to be able to control which units come out when, so upgrading them all feels the same. Some ability to control the units would be fun, and the map seems needlessly big, not being able to see most of the bases at once doesn't really add any fun challenge to the game, its easy to tell where the units are coming from, and having to scroll is slow and boring. The units also fall behind when you scroll and the edge scrolling is kinda jumpy, maybe that's why it feels clunky. It has potential, but needs some more work

Meh, the collision isn't great. Feels like either you're using the AABB of the rotating rectangles or you're counting the triangle as a rectangle. Either way, in a game like this, collision is everything. The gameplay is boring to be honest, helicopter came out something like 12 years ago. Other than that, the menus are fine, maybe some shading on the outline boxes would make things pop more. And its a game at least, has some unlockables. I give it a 1.5, in between "nothing too new or interesting". and "this isn't very good". The app market is teaching people that bad games make money, but this is still a flash website, and this will be rated like a flash game. Honestly 1.5 is generous. But don't give up, just spend some more time trying. Add upgrades, a shop or something maybe, some unique gameplay aspects.

So, this game is basically nothing. Theres one screen, upgrades that don't add any additional functionality or gameplay, and thats it. The gameplay is simple and boring, though arguable more fun than cookie clicker's gameplay, at least it's slightly harder to bot. I didn't very much enjoy the game, but found myself playing it. I will congratulate you on a job well done, because you seem to have distilled the essence of what people want to play into it's simplest form, I say that because this game is pretty highly rated and easy to get to from the front page for being so barebones. Your game has provided me insight into how the player's vote, thank you. Though I'm pretty much just idling until I get the badges at this point, not sure why. I'll give you a 3 because this game is "nothing too new or interesting" (2), but somehow is able to captivate the player base of newgrounds.

The mute button is finicky, I've found it really only constantly works on the credits page, and it doesn't carry over between frames.

Cool game, fairly standard, nothing new really. But it wasn't too long, and it was fun. My only gripe is that you don't get to actually utilize the final mechanic for anything other than traversing to the end, which is able to be done without it anyway. Perhaps a final boss where you use the jetpack?

Guy-Unger responds:

Of course I would have loved to add a final boss, lots of jetpack puzzle and what not. But there's only so much you can do in 72 hours ;)

I love this game, Chaoz Fantasy was one of the first Newgrounds songs I found that I really liked, and when this came out it was an awesome thing to do while listening to the song. I basically considered this to be the gamer's equivalent of the audio visualizer. That is to say, average person : watching the screen :: gamer : playing this game, if you're familiar with the metaphor syntax

5/5 art, 5/5 music

I'm probably rating this higher than I would if I didn't have nostalgia, but I so love all the little details that make it evident this came out in the mid as2 era ;)

I love the atmosphere in this game
the music is awesome and works well with the art assets
the background is really cool
the game is unique and fun for a bit, not the best though
overall, great game
